New Shoots, Strong Roots: Spring Staffing Updates

As the seasons shift and the farm awakens, we’re entering 2025 with renewed energy, big plans, and a growing team to help bring them to life. The reopening of the Lyme-East Thetford bridge and the near-completion of our new education building are opening up exciting new possibilities—and we’re ready to meet them.

Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center has been expanding and evolving over the past 25 years. In that time, we’ve grown not only in what we offer but in how we work to achieve our mission. As we look forward, we’re expanding our programs, deepening our impact, and continuing to build a team that brings heart, dedication, and talent to every corner of the farm.

We’re excited to share a few staffing updates as part of that growth:

  • Our education team is expanding! We’ve added two Leads, Zack and Gucci, to support our growing programs. To help streamline that work, our Administrative Coordinator is transitioning into a new role as Education Administrative Assistant, and our Outreach & Engagement Coordinator (OEC) will be stepping into a broader administrative position. We’ll be hiring a new OEC soon, who will work closely with our incoming Development Director.

  • In the greenhouses and fields, we’re thrilled to announce the promotion of Katherine Broughton to Annuals and Perennials Manager. With her deep knowledge and steady commitment to the farm, Katherine is a natural fit for this leadership role. She is joined by Katie, stepping in as Annuals & Perennials Lead.

  • Over on the Veg Production Team, manager Ralf Carestia is supported by a strong crew of team leads: Phoebe, Lainey, and Pearce.

  • We’re also hiring a Research Director to help lead collaborative projects and guide our internal research work—stay tuned for more on that front as well.

Amid all this growth, we’re also preparing to say goodbye to a cherished team member: Stacey Cooper, our Director of Agriculture. Stacey has been an integral part of the farm for the past three years, leading with vision and heart. She shares this message:

“As I move on to new adventures this spring, I wanted to share the impact that my time at Cedar Circle has had on me personally. I feel more connected, more aware, more inspired, and more empowered. My work here has helped me to dive deeper into the world of native plants and I’ll be moving into a role as the Native Plant Propagation Manager for the Nantucket Conservation Foundation, supporting another mission driven organization in their quest to restore biodiversity in the landscape.

“It’s clear that the community’s support on every level makes our work possible, and it is felt in everything we do. I couldn’t be more proud and grateful to have been part of the magic that is Cedar Circle, and the connections I have made on the farm and in the community will be carried with me in my future endeavors.”

While we will miss Stacey deeply, we’re filled with gratitude for her leadership and are excited to welcome a new director in the months ahead.

With an incredible crew of returning seasonal staff and new team members joining us for the first time, we’re feeling inspired and ready for this next season of growth. We can’t wait to share it with you.

With appreciation,
The Team at Cedar Circle
