A Fresh Look for Spring

One of the things I love about working on a farm is that what I do day-to-day changes so much throughout the year. As soon as I get sick of eating strawberries, we’re on to blueberries, and as soon as we start feeling a little too cold out in the farmstand, we close up for the winter and I move to the office to start planning and getting ready for the year to come.

This winter has been a particularly fun one, so I thought it would be nice to share a bit of it with all of you. I do, after all, get a lot of questions about what exactly it is that I do all winter.

In particular, there are two projects I’ve been working on that I think you might be excited about. (1) I’ve been working with our web designer on some big changes to our website (stay tuned for a simpler, cleaner, easier-to-navigate site to come later this spring) and (2) I’ve been designing a new Cedar Circle Farm logo.

Those of you who have been around for a while may have noticed that we’ve been phasing out our original logo––the one with the ear of corn that’s featured on the sign on Pavillion Road and on the side of our farmers’ market van. We all love sweet corn, and that logo has served us well for many years, but we unanimously agreed that we wanted something that better represented the farm, the educational work that we do, and our dedication to growing for and with our community.

So this spring we’re introducing something new. We’re giving you a preview here, and soon you’ll see it popping up on our social media profiles, our website, posters, and more. Keep an eye out!

Here’s to a fresh look for spring!
