Greenhouse Manager & Event Flowers
Michelle joined the farm in the summer of 2011 after moving to Vermont from Utah. She manages our retail greenhouses caring for all of our annuals, perennials and vegetable starts. She loves working with customers to create custom arrangements for their containers and gardens and hopes everyone who comes to the farm enjoys the lovely atmosphere created by good soil and beautiful flowers!
Michelle avoids purchasing plant or seed material that is treated with neonicotinoids. These pesky insecticides are thought to do much damage to the central nervous system of bees and are likely at the heart of recent declines in bee colonies. To demonstrate our commitment to sustainability and a healthy environment, as well as to encourage a change in the industry, we grow our flowers using organic methods. Even those flowers which we purchase to create our hanging baskets or sell as annuals or perennials come from suppliers that do not use neonicotinoids in their facilities. All of our herb vegetable starts are certified organic.
In 2013 we began to offer pick-your-own wedding flowers. Michelle assists all of the wedding parties that visit the farm; guiding them through the gardens and helping them create their centerpieces. She specializes in creating custom bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages from our selection of organic and sustainable flowers.
