
Education Programs Manager
This is an exciting time to be a part of the leadership team at Cedar Circle Farm and Education Center! We are wrapping up our strategic plan, which will guide our education and research growth over the next several years, and are in the middle of a big renovation project that will allow us to grow our reach with expanded programming. This project will create a new indoor education center space, complete with a demonstration and educational kitchen as well as additional classrooms and offices.
About the Position
We are seeking an experienced and passionate farm-based or environmental educator to lead our Education Department. This position is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about organic regenerative agriculture and communicating with and educating people of all ages.
The Education Programs Manager’s primary responsibility is to help grow the community of Cedar Circle Farm & Education Center, connecting people with the process of growing regenerative organic food and fostering an appreciation for our land. This person serves as one of the farm’s ambassadors through educational programming and interacting with the public in their role; they should be outgoing and enjoy meaningful interactions with customers and visitors to the farm. As an active member of the management team, they will work directly with all other department managers to help drive a coordinated strategy that works towards achieving Cedar Circle’s annual and long term goals for the entire farm.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement all on-farm educational activities.
- Continue to develop and improve upon existing programs such as: Little Farmers Preschool Program, Homeschool Program, Summer Camp (ages 6-11), Cooking for Middle Schoolers (ages 11-14), School Field Trip Programs, Group Tours, Farmer Workshops, Adult Workshops, Pumpkin Festival and other special events
- Develop new programs to provide opportunities for people of all ages to have meaningful and educational experiences on our farm, as a means to nurture and inspire community members to be proactive in their support of regenerative agriculture
- Hire, recruit, and train staff and volunteers to confidently and competently implement all educational programming
- Ensure safety protocols and procedures are adhered to and kept up-to-date.
- Create opportunities for staff development, to educate and raise awareness of CCF’s mission within the organization
- Work with the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator to advertise the program offerings to the public and increase our reach within the Upper Valley community and beyond
- Participate in all management team activities to help drive a coordinated strategy that works towards achieving CCFs annual and long term goals for the entire farm
- Collaborate with other staff on fundraising efforts (grant research and writing, annual appeal, donation solicitations, etc.)
- Complete annual budget projections for the Education Department; regularly monitor and adjust with guidance from the Executive Director. This includes tracking income and expenses of the entire department as well as managing the department in line with the budget.
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in education, agriculture, ecology, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience coordinating education programs in a non-formal setting, focusing on agriculture and/or ecology
- Excellent self-organization and the ability to multi-task
- Proven experience training and managing staff
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently on projects

- Culinary experience (for teaching)
- Proficient with Apple and Google software

Compensation
The Education Programs Manager is a full time year-round position, with flexible hours especially during the off-season. The position is hourly with benefits including health insurance (100% of the group premium is employer paid), paid time off, fresh produce, and a 20% discount in our farmstand and café. The salary range is 47,000-52,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
